Coming back to the studio and working with her hands, the photographic and performative work has gradually transmuted and deconstructed. In the midst of cutting, cropping, archiving, manipulating, recomposing and curating; Elisa recycled perspectives of previous creations in more expressive and uncensored process-oriented works. Her new artworks on paper are connected through color, the common thread that defines her particular gaze. These reveal layers of the unconscious, personal and mystical, jet juxtaposed with analogue photographs and digital collage exacerbating the polarity between a highly intimate eye and a more visceral abstract hand.
These serie of work was presented for Open Studios at Glogauair Artist in Residency, Germany in 2021. Developed during the residency and her previous semester of tutoring with the artist Catalina Bouer, Chile 2020.
Volviendo al estudio, a usar sus manos, el gesto y el papel, el trabajo fotográfico y performativo se ha transmutado y deconstruido gradualmente. En medio de cortar, recortar, archivar, manipular, recomponer y curar; Elisa recicla perspectivas de creaciones anteriores en obras más expresivas y sin censura, orientadas al proceso. Sus nuevas obras de arte sobre papel están conectadas a través del color, hilo conductor que define su particular mirada. Estos revelan capas del inconsciente, personal y místico, yuxtapuestas con fotografías analógas y collages digitales que exacerban la polaridad entre un ojo muy íntimo y una mano abstracta más visceral.
